Now, I read more than the Washington Post, but it is so chock full of goodies this morning I can hardly stand it. The IRS is auditing the NAACP because it thinks it might have violated federal tax law's prohibition on support or opposition to candidates. It's a very subjective rule, based on a so-called facts and circumstances test. The past position of the IRS is that issue advocacy may continue through an election season so long as it does not increase. It appears to me the NAACP stuck to this rule, but we shall see.

The NAACP is a major player in GOTV and voter registration work.
